MNTAT Website to Be Launched August 10th

The Minnesota Employment Training and Technical Assistance Center (MNTAT) will launch its new website on August 10th, 2009. The launch will be concurrent with an inuagural web cast that will be presented to a selected group of state agency training and technical assistance personnel and other partners. The website will host a statewide training calendar, a listing of employment related resources and links, news and announcements, and information regarding the first annual Minnesota Disability and Employment Conference that is being scheduled for December 1-2, 2009. The website represents our first tangible product and will serve as the central point for information and contact with MNTAT. The web address is: www.mntat.org.

Bob Niemiec is a Senior Consultant with GHA and serves as the Director of the Minnesota Employment Services and Technical Assistance Support Center. Prior to that, Bob was the Director of Employment and Community Supports for Community Involvement Programs in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Bob also serves as a mentor for the Wisconsin Medicaid Infrastructure Grant (MIG) in their CRP Rebalancing Project. A graduate of Indiana University, Bob has been in the field of employment for persons with disabilities for twenty-seven years. He has performed at virtually every level within a human service organization, from direct service to executive director. Bob served as the Chair of the Minnesota State Rehabilitation Council for seven years as well as being a member of the Minnesota Governor’s Workforce Development council. He is a Past-President of APSE – The Network on Employment, a founding member and former President of the Minnesota APSE, former President of the APSE Foundation, a current member of the Editorial Board of The Journal of Vocational Rehabilitation, and a founding member of the Minnesota Employment First Coalition. He is also Co-Director of the U.S. Dept. of Labor’s National Self Employment Technical Assistance, Resources and Training project with Virginia Commonwealth University. Cary maintains a strong relationship with the Rural Institute at the University of Montana, where he served as Director of Adult Community Services & Supports. He is the former Executive Director of the Region VIII CRP-RCEP at the Center for Technical Assistance & Training (CTAT), which he founded at the University of Northern Colorado in 1989. Cary provides training to administrative and direct service level professionals in the rehabilitation field; consultation to businesses and rehabilitation agencies regarding the employment of individuals with significant disabilities; field-initiated research & demonstration; family & consumer case consultation; resource development; organizational development. He has developed, written, and administered over $30 million in grants and contracts covering transition to work, supported employment, customized employment, small business development, positive behavior support, and leadership mentoring.
